Cinder | Aurora Tide | 3D Printed Design Vase

Designed and built from scratch — not a downloaded file, not a template. Cinder is part of the Multicolour Collection and took the most work of the four. Getting those folded layers right wasn't straightforward — and at some point I also made a twisted version, but in the end the straight one was better.

The shape works particularly well with multicolour silk filament. The folded surfaces face in many different directions, so each side of the vase shows different colours. Put the small and large version next to each other — same filament, different angle, completely different result.

This design is only available through SunkenOrangeDesign. It's designed on my own PC, printed on my own printers, and if something doesn't come out right, I adjust it until it does. You're not buying a mass-produced object — you're buying something that took actual time and effort to get right.

Cinder works well as a gift for anyone who appreciates design or has a thing for objects that are a bit different. The colour shifts depending on the angle, which makes it easy to keep looking at.

Material & finish
Printed in silk PLA — a plant-based bioplastic with a soft satin finish. The silk filament gives the colours a subtle sheen that changes as the light moves around it. Each vase is printed layer by layer in the Netherlands. Subtle variations in surface or tone make every piece slightly unique.

Use
Not water-tight, so intended for dried, silk or LEGO® flowers. Or just empty.
